The Bhutanese are welcoming, tolerant, pragmatic people with great senses of humor whose Buddhist religion informs almost every aspect of their lives. Unlike most developing countries, women in this mostly agrarian society have equal status with men by custom and by law. The emphasis on "Gross National Happiness" rather than gross national product characterizes the values of this "Last Buddhist Kingdom in the World".

Bhutan's welcoming inclusive attitude toward foreigners makes interaction and photography there a delight.
